- I edit transcripts using Morson's (LMEG), The Gregg Reference Manual, and court reporter preferences as the guides.
- I proofread transcripts that have been edited and are very close to a finished product. Transcripts that are “messy” or “dirty” and therefore requiring much extra time may be charged at a higher rate.
- Please send a finished draft of your transcript. This ensures the best and most thorough work with the quickest possible turnaround time.
- Please contact me with your page count and due date prior to submitting a transcript so that I can confirm my availability.
- Transcripts should be submitted by email as a PDF. If you need instructions for converting into PDF, please see below. Only annotated pages will be returned by email. You should see both red and yellow markings on your correction PDF, and all pages included in your correction PDF will have corrections or notes of some kind (no “blank” pages). You must open in the latest version of Adobe Reader for all corrections to be visible.
- If the transcript is a longer job (more than 200 pages), please send it in sections of approximately 50 pages. This allows us to both be working on it at the same time and reduces your turnaround time.
- If you have a question about the turnaround time of a job, please feel free to ask me. I have quite a bit of flexibility, and it is likely that I can work on weekend jobs. My goal is to work together to help you be as successful and efficient as possible!
- So that I can adapt to your preferences in punctuation and style, I encourage reporters to fill out the Reporter Preference Sheet I provide.
Instructions to convert ASCII to PDF:
- Click the download link.
- Install following the prompts. You may need to restart. You may not, though.
- Inside your software, with a transcript open, go to Print.
- Where you would normally select a printer to print on paper, click the drop-down or scroll through to locate CutePDF Writer, and select it.
- Click “Print”.
- It should ask you where you want to save the file. You can choose your desktop, your My Documents, or wherever you like.
- E-mail me the newly created PDF file, exactly the way you would an ASCII. It attaches to e-mails in just the same way.
- If this still doesn’t work, you may have to restart your computer or software, and then try starting again at Step 3.
